Kerdos leads home Dundalk one-two for Thorne
Kerdos led home stablemate Sir Les Patterson in a one-two for Stephen Thorne in the five-furlong BAR 1 Casino “Slot Games” Race at Dundalk on 2 October 2026.
Ridden by Reese Holohan, the 11/1 winner moved into contention inside the final furlong and took the lead late. Sir Les Patterson, the 3/1 favourite, met trouble in running before finishing strongly to take second, half a length behind. The Highway Rat was a further half-length back in third.
Thorne felt the return to five furlongs suited Kerdos after an unproductive six-furlong run in August. A break between starts also helped freshen the horse for this effort. It was Holohan’s first ride for the trainer.
Both Kerdos and Sir Les Patterson hold entries for the Mercury at Dundalk, with Thorne indicating that a return to the track in a couple of weeks is possible.
