Crayons In The Sky opens her account at Dundalk

Crayons In The Sky secured her first victory at Dundalk on 28 October, winning the six-furlong Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden under Jack Kearney for Stephen Thorne. The two-year-old filly is owned jointly by Daniel Kreith and Shamrock Thoroughbreds.

Rated 86 and sent off the 1/2 favourite, she finished a length and a half ahead of Normanton, with Belle Parvenue another length and a quarter behind in third. The success also gave Kearney his first winner since riding out his apprentice claim earlier in October.

After a summer of competitive efforts against strong opposition, the filly made the most of this opportunity. Kearney felt she won comfortably without needing a demanding ride and expected the experience to boost her confidence. He considered six furlongs suitable for now, while leaving open the possibility of trying seven in time.
