Shamrock Thoroughbreds were working hard last week at the Horses in Training Sales and managed to source 6 new recruits, 4 of which will be joining Ado McGuinness Racing.
Shamrock secured both Magnetic North and Casanova on behalf of Dooley Thoroughbreds and both will be trained by Ado.
“Magnetic North cost 25,000 Guineas and has been proven in big field handicaps and he is exactly the type of horse that we like to buy. He was in great condition at the sale and he will be targeted with a big race in mind next season. He has plenty of size and could be well suited by a hurdling campaign next spring also”, added Stephen Thorne, Managing Director of Shamrock Thoroughbreds.
“Casanova was another lightly raced sort who was great value at 15,000 Guineas. He was in great shape at the sale and has lots of size and strength to be even better next season. He will be campaigned with a big day in mind next year”, commented Stephen.
Shamrock also purchased all-weather specialist Harry’s Bar who cost 75,000 Guineas and was bought privately after the sale.
“I fell in love with him as soon as I clapped eyes on him. He has all the attributes of a proper horse and I am really looking forward to next season with him. I think he is still improving and the All-Weather Championships at Lingfield next Spring are firmly on his agenda”, commented Stephen.
Paycheck was purchased for an Irish client and this daughter of Raven’s Pass who is a half sister to black-type performer Faulkner will also be trained by Ado McGuinness with an all-weather campaign in mind.
Decimal Day and Sea Trout Reach were two lightly raced 3yo’s with great profiles who have dual purpose potential and they were both purchased by Shamrock on behalf of an Irish client. “They were two great value horses and I have no doubt the new owner will have lots of success with them both”, added Stephen Thorne
